Coffee has become a staple in the morning routine of many. Whether one decides to order coffee out or make their own coffee at home, there are many options to choose from. Cafe culture is constantly evolving adding new standard items to menus that offer a wide range of drinks. Without inside knowledge of what a lot of these drinks are it can be difficult to know exactly what to expect when ordering. I have been working as a barista for a little over two years and have had countless experiences where customers get overwhelmed with the number of items on the menu.

What’s in That?: A Guide to Ordering Coffee is an informational book I created outlining almost every possible drink that could be ordered from a coffee shop with in-depth descriptions. Inspired by the aesthetics of hand-done typography and text on cafe chalkboards, I aimed to create a sense of familiarity to provide the reader with newfound confidence the next time they place an order.
