In creating mixed-media collages, I respond to the colors and shapes of packaging, receipts, photographs and trash. These ephemera of my everyday life find their way into my work causing the collages to act as a diary composed of my daily experiences. In utilizing these debris I consider the memories of these things when implementing them into my work; why were they left behind? who interacted with them? how long will they stay?… I ask these same questions about myself, and find solace in the similarities and nuances of me and my environment.
