“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.” —Erik Erikson

As a child of mixed heritage, I’ve always struggled with the concept of cultural identity. How could I be ‘classified’ under these definitive characteristics, when I had such a colorful background? I struggle to identify with a single ethnicity, since I have been shaped by so many traditions, values, and customs.

Who I Am explores these same struggles through the eyes of a mutt trying to identify itself in the complicated world of classification. The story symbolizes my struggle with personal identity and society's desire to define me. Our heritage is not defined by our looks or customs.

Who I Am promotes acceptance and understanding that we are all complex beings who can identify in many different ways. This story values our unique personalities and asks us to discover ourselves through the love we share and receive.

Who I Am is a published children’s book and can be found on Amazon.com.
